ABOUT AMC

More throughput.
Shorter lead times.
No capital required.

Albert Mureen Consulting (AMC) builds software that finds the single limiting factor in your value stream and eliminates it — using the LTOCOR methodology. No equipment purchases. No headcount increases. Just mathematical precision applied to the system you already have.

The constraint is rarely where you think it is.
And fixing it costs nothing.

Most manufacturers spend money improving the wrong station. They buy faster machines for non-bottlenecks, add overtime to non-constraints, and run Kaizen events where the impact is structurally impossible.

The Theory of Constraints (TOC) proves that every system has exactly one constraint — and improvements anywhere else are an illusion. LTOCOR finds that constraint mathematically, then shows you exactly how to exploit it using the resources you already have.

The result: more throughput, shorter lead times, and lower WIP — without capital expenditure.

Throughput grows when flow is designed — not when capacity is added.

Traditional manufacturing improvement starts with a Kaizen event: pick an area, gather a team, fix something, move on. The problem is that this approach doesn't account for where the improvement sits in the system. Improving a non-constraint has zero impact on throughput.

LTOCOR reverses this pattern. It starts with the system — identifying the constraint using load-vs-capacity analysis, then sizing time, stock, and capacity buffers mathematically using Kingman's formula and queuing theory. Only after the system is designed does improvement begin — and it begins at the constraint.

The result is that every Kaizen event, every improvement dollar, and every hour of engineering effort is structurally guaranteed to increase throughput because it targets the one point in the system where throughput is actually limited.

Six ways LTOCOR increases throughput without capital

Constraint identification

Load-vs-capacity analysis across every station identifies the single point limiting system throughput. No guesswork, no debate — the math shows it.

Buffer sizing

Time, stock, and capacity buffers are calculated using Kingman's formula and historical variability data. Buffers protect the constraint from upstream disruption.

Workload rebalancing

Redistribute work content across stations to eliminate idle time at the constraint and shift load to non-constraints that have excess capacity.

Pull system design

Calculate exact kanban quantities for every SKU. Eliminate overproduction by releasing work based on actual consumption, not forecasts.

Variability reduction

Statistical process control identifies stations with excess variability. Target improvements at the stations where variability directly impacts the constraint.

Batch size optimization

Find the mathematically optimal transfer batch and process batch sizes. Smaller batches reduce lead time; larger batches improve efficiency. LTOCOR finds the right trade-off.

Lean + TOC = OK.
One integrated system.

Lean and the Theory of Constraints are often taught as competing philosophies. They are not. Lean provides the cultural framework — respect for people, waste elimination, visual management. TOC provides the focus — find the constraint, exploit it, subordinate everything else.

AMC combines both with Operations Research (OR) — the mathematical discipline that sizes buffers, calculates queue lengths, and simulates system behavior under variability. The result is a system that is culturally Lean, strategically TOC, and mathematically precise.

Lean

Visual management, waste elimination, respect for people. The cultural engine that drives daily continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Theory of Constraints

System-level focus. Identify the constraint, exploit it, subordinate everything else. Prevents wasted effort on non-bottlenecks.

Operations Research

Mathematical rigor. Queuing theory, Kingman's formula, Monte Carlo simulation. Sizes buffers and validates designs before deployment.

RESULTS IN THE FIELD

What manufacturers achieve

We used constraint analytics to prove the bottleneck was Station 3, not Station 7 like everyone assumed. The first Kaizen event reduced lead time by 4 days. We stopped spending money improving the wrong station.

The pull-sizing calculator gave us exact kanban quantities for 40+ SKUs. We eliminated stockouts and cut our floor inventory by 42% in the first 90 days.
